The Council of Science Editors (CSE) have launched its podcast series S.P.E.A.K., Scientific Publishing Exchange Around Knowledge. This monthly podcast series is part of CSE’s mission to foster a community for networking, education, and exchanging of practical insight for publishing professionals. The aim is to be an authoritative resource on current and emerging issues in the community of scientific publishing; and to do so with the voices of our members, not solely industry experts.

Introducing SPEAK with Interview of past CSE President, Dana Compton
Join the co-Chairs of CSE Career and Professional Development Committee as they discuss the purpose of the podcast and interview Dana Compton, the past-President of CSE and Managing Director and Publisher at American Society of Civil Engineers. At the time of this recording, CSE was in the midst of transitioning the 2020 CSE Annual Meeting to a virtual format, and Dana was serving as CSE President and Editorial Director at ASCE. During this inaugural episode, Dana discusses how she has navigated the publishing industry, the upcoming first ever Virtual CSE Annual meeting, and shares her favorite CSE memory. Although much has occurred in the intervening time, this episode’s key points are still very relevant as we continue to navigate our rapidly changing time.
