On this episode, I had the honor to sit with Ree Botts and we had a beautiful conversation about healing as Black womxn. Reelaviolette botts-ward is a homegirl, an artist, and a nontraditional community curator from Philadelphia, PA. She is the founder of blackwomxnhealing, an intergenerational collective of Black womxn committed to wholeness, where she curates healing circles, exhibitions, courses, and research “for us, by us.”
We discussed:
Her book, Mourning My Inner [BlackGirl] Child
The unlearning we’ve had to do from older Black womxn in our lives.
The sacredness of childhood
Giving Black girls space to explore their full self
Learning how to embrace the fullness of ourselves
Realizing that people will experience you differently
