There have been some 'rumblings' of sorts in the past 36 hours that the current interim head for South Carolina's baseball program, Monte Lee, is being strongly considered to be the program's next head coach. While nothing has officially been reported regarding his positioning, a hypothetical scenario of Lee getting the full-time gig would be a bad look for the Gamecocks, not because of Monte's character or baseball acumen, but because of undeniable facts from his last stop at Clemson and his association with the University of South Carolina.

The last time South Carolina's baseball program was looking for a new head coach, timing was something that wasn't on their side in their now well-documented pursuit of Florida Gators coach Kevin O'Sullivan. However, considering the candidates athletic director Ray Tanner could be pursuing this time around, he has a potential and rare chance to get out in front of things from the outset.

On Monday morning, multiple reports surfaced that South Carolina baseball coach Mark Kingston was parting ways with the Gamecocks. It's a move that many saw coming after what was viewed as an unacceptable end result in 2024 considering what the program accomplished the year prior.

A recent report has come out from The State Newspaper in Columbia that University of South Carolina Athletic Director Ray Tanner has had preliminary talks with South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley on a new contract. With the quotes the report included, along with what Dawn has hinted at in the past regarding how much longer she wants to coach, she could get a lifetime contract which would allow for a smooth transition

After landing Arkansas Razorback transfer and forward Maryam Dauda on Wednesday, Dawn Staley and South Carolina's women's basketball program have effectively solidified their roster for next season. While it's fair to say that the starting lineup won't see drastic changes heading into next season, things aren't as clear-cut when it comes to the bench rotation.

On Wednesday morning, Dawn Staley and South Carolina's women's basketball team landed a commitment from Arkansas Razorback transfer and forward Maryam Dauda, who immediately is a strong contender to take over the five spot left vacated by Kamilla Cardoso who moved onto the WNBA.
