Over 80 percent of people have a fear of public speaking. I'm included in that. After a rough few days of being thrown into public speaking, we talk about our struggles with it, even though it's our job.

We just hit our 12-year marriage anniversary and it has been quite the journey. We go through our struggles and success and discussed the Institute for Family Studies article "Six Lessons on Staying Married from Couples Who’ve Struggled and Made It."

I'll be turning 40 soon and it got me thinking about getting older and my past. That somehow led us into time travel, conspiracy theories and eventually back to turning 40 and the things you should know by then.

Nobody likes to be the "new guy" anywhere. This week that's exactly what we'll be as we start our new positions. We chatted about our recent trip to beautiful Tennessee and our fantastic Father's Day.

A few years back, we put together a 50 before 50 list in which we listed 50 things we wanted to do before we turned 50. We've done some things on the list since, and others we no longer want to do. We ran through some of those things on the list and discussed some of the parenting differences between us and our parents before we really got rolling.

Derrick Kenning is an Air Force veteran who recently retired after 21 years of service and is currently focused on his entrepreneurial endeavors. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a Munitions Systems Specialist and Military Training Instructor. He owns Jekyll & Hyde Performance and is a real estate investor. The man is constantly on the move looking for ways to improve his businesses and keeping an eye out for the next opportunity.
