Old men are often said to have "one foot in the grave" but those whose trust is wholly in Jesus Christ for time and eternity are not looking forward to the grave but to glory, for the Bible says that to be "absent from the body" is to be "present with the Lord". At the age of 87, therefore, I have chosen this name for my new podcast which will feature videos of talks, comments and lectures about the Bible and science and also Bible expositions.

AUDIO; MAN'S MIND EXISTS INDEPENDENTLY OF THE BRAIN

Is the human mind non-existent or at best a powerless emanation of brain activity? Many so believe but having examined their claims we see that they are only claims based on the prior assumptions of materialism. We quote an eminent philosopher who points out that non-material things like love, emotions and thoughts about future events are the true reality of human experience.

AUDIO; THE MIND-BRAIN CONNECTION, EXPLORING HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS

Chapter 9 of "What is Man? Adam, Alien or Ape?" embarks on an exploration of the complex relationship between the mind and the brain. The chapter begins with a thought-provoking quotation from J.B.S. Haldane, challenging the notion that the mind is merely a by-product of brain activity. Using a captivating house and garden analogy, we illustrate the distinctions between the brain's automatic functions and the conscious mind and clarify the different philosophical perspectives on the mind-body problem.
