Too much drama instead of news

Storytelling gained majority over news. Packed with real life stories of everyday people like me simply does not fit to what I expect from the news half an hour slot. Not saying it's wrong or uninteresting but it's more like BBC Global Daily Drama. What about news update broadcasted on the hour or world news summary, any reason why these programmes are not podcasted? BBC World News hourly session is much alike the Global news podcast.
