Dr. Cathy R. Owens-Oliver understands the journey of single women, especially those in the church. She married her husband, Sidney, in her late 30's. She shares her journey and the wisdom she gained over the years.

Dr. Owens-Oliver is the CEO of Educational Effectiveness Group, a consulting firm in Charlotte, NC. She has presented at many national conferences and written for leading education journals including Accomplished Teacher Magazine, the Journal of Staff Development, and the Hope Foundation’s What Works in Schools. Her work also appears in the college textbook: Black Star: An Introduction to African-American Studies.

When were told our 17 year old daughter had cancer we understood like never before what it was like to have doubt in our heads and faith in our hearts. The experience of seeing 'our imperfect faith' at work inspired this podcast.
