    Ep. 42 — Don't play with fire

My 6-week absence is an oopsies, but I promised I tried. Had a little hiccup with recording a few weeks back but that's just cause I'm an idiot. Shoulda rolled with it -- but the audio was pretty rough. Anyhoosier, here we are with another installation.

Glad to have you all join me as I sampled some nice rye that Andy gifted me, and I tried out my new smoking kit on it which had some hilarious results about 15 minutes in. Is pretty damn good though.

Outside of that I just detail my planned travels over the next few weeks, what I'm excited about in Georgia in January, and what I'll be presenting on in Indy in February.

It's a good time to be a Tot, a good time to be an alcoholic, and a good time to listen. Thanks for stopping in.

Ep. 41 — The Tot vs. the Munich Police

I finally got caught up with work after my Europe hiatus -- and thought I'd catch you up on Europe. Before diving into my foreign endeavors, I recall yesteryear when I actually paid attention to the World Series, my excitement for friends to visit (literally 12 hours from recording), and my anger at technology (@spotify/anchor). Then I walk you through every part of my trip, from Paris to Munich to Amsterdam, and everything in between. I definitely missed something, but would love to chat with you more about it offline. Just don't give the Munich Police Department my location and we'll call it even.

    Ep. 40 — Wasn't lyin'

    Ep. 40 — Wasn't lyin'

Welcome back, and I told you I was back.

A slightly on-the-spot decision led to me deciding to record this episode, but I didn't want to leave y'all hangin' for too long. After "accidentally" pouring three drinks at the start of the podcast, I fill you lovely listeners in on a few things going on. Namely, the fact that I will be heading to OKTOBERFEST this year and hitting a few other cities/countries as well, and that I'm super excited about that.

I also take some time to talk honestly about my mental health for the last few years. Could certainly talk more, and will if people ask me to, but I kept it relatively short. I mention that a few of us are dealing with a recent death, but don't dive in details out of respect. If people want more on that subject, I think we could certainly make a powerful episode out of it (in a good way, not in like a "this would be great content" way like a psycho). Tried not to depress my listeners too much, but appreciate those that listen.

Being consistently late pisses me off, which is funny for someone that was like 2 years late on posting episodes. I also talk briefly about my experiencing jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, and how I'd love to talk more and drink with my instructor, probably over a Long Drink.

    Until next time.

    Ep. 39 — "I'm back"

    Ep. 39 — "I'm back"

    "I'm back."

Hopefully you all enjoyed your Labor Day festivities, and celebrated accordingly. Let me make your Labor Day even better with this gift — Whiskey Circle is making a revival.

As I'll detail a little bit in this episode and certainly in future episodes, things will look a little bit different moving forward. Of course, generally speaking, the pod will maintain much of the same structure, but I'll lay out the expectation now that this will not be a weekly occurrence, but rather a bi-weekly to monthly sort of thing. Gotta get back to the roots and make sure it's fun every time, baby.

Enjoy this short recap of why the pod took a pause, and what to expect moving forward. Stay tuned for future episodes (I promise at least one more in September, you have my word).

Ep. 38 — Beer drinking IS a sport

Ep. 38 — Beer drinking IS a sport

A bunch of the boys got together last week and got a little sideways — so naturally, we decided to record an episode.

We talk the origins of the Whiskey Circle music, how talented our friends are or aren’t at guitar, and we get educated on Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

Then we move into COVID and sports, then spend hours on the ins and outs of beer-related sports, and sprinkle in some sexcapade stories.

Join me, BC, PJ, Andy and Nate for this ride.

Ep. 37 — We say yes, bitch

Ep. 37 — We say yes, bitch

If you can get past the first 20 minutes, you’re in for a treat.

Me and Sammy start of talking about how bad I am at golf and what I’ve been doing for Movember before I totally forget how to speak. We bring things back whenever I talk about my plans for buying a house, how weird the MetaVerse is, and how crazy human advancement has been for the last 20 years. I predict when the world is going to end, how bad politicians are, and who knows, maybe I’ll fix politics one day.

Back end gets weird when we tell stories about me almost dying, Lohse’s dog dying and other dead pet scenarios, my grandma dying, the point of life, whether you not you need to get tested for STDs, and how great it is knowing a bartender.

If you make it to the end, grab yourself a beer, you probably deserve it, but it’s worth it — even if I’m not expert, just an alcoholic.
