Beyond the Lens podcast desires to tackle the crucial conversations about the inequalities crippling the Black community in the UK. Our podcast seeks to shine a light on the barriers facing Black people; that negatively impact our social mobility, mental health, and well-being. We will explore both well established and innovative practices that can bring about self and community development. With all the talent and excellence vibrating through the Black community, why are we facing so much adversity? Beyond the Lens podcast enters the arena as a disruptor to the status quo. We want to see Black people, not ‘existing’, but ‘excelling’ without having to shrink ourselves. Period.

Dating and relationships; It’s a sticky one!
A girls talk about all things dating and relationships, as usual, it got deep the resident panel and guest Vanisha cranked it all the way up and spilt the tea on their expectations and experiences. Without giving too much away Sherée shares a cringe worthy first date and Vanisha tells us about her DM’s. Mental Health and the Black community: Let’s talk.
Why are Black people disproportionality over-represented within mental health institutes in the UK? For an issue that affects us so greatly we are still struggling to talk about it. From being classified as educationally subnormal in the 70’s to present day risks of cannabis induced psychosis, there are clearly some issues that need to be talked about, understood and overcome.
