What to do in Torrevieja Torrevieja

Doña Sinforosa Park is located in front of Playa del Acequión, on the beachfront, and is considered one of the best parks in Torrevieja.

It is one of the few green areas in Torrevieja and it is home to generous specimens of eucalyptus, pine and palm trees that give shelter to a great variety of exotic birds.

This romance-inspired park has a gazebo that hosts open-air concerts it also boasts of beautiful fountains and there are benches, public toilets, and even an enclosed section for dogs.

The enclosure is completely fenced and its opening hours to the public are from 10a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Next to the park, runs the Acequíon canal that joins the salty lagoon with the Mediterranean Sea.
And in front of the Doña Sinforosa park, the structure of the ship where once wooden boats were built by the caulking masters still stands.

Before being a public park, this site was known as "La casa de los Portales"; It was a huge house built at the beginning of the 20th century.

Of all the owners of the house, the most famous and loved by the inhabitants of Torrevieja was a lady called Doña Sinforosa, appreciated for her good nature and for having no qualms about letting the local children visit the gardens whenever they wanted.

The biodiversity of the park was so interesting that in the past it was classified as being of environmental scientific interest and today it is valued by citizens as an authentic oasis by the sea.
