HIV stigma is negative attitudes and beliefs about people with HIV.  When we support people with HIV, we make it easier for them to lead healthy lives. Let’s Stop HIV Together highlights the role that each person plays in stopping HIV stigma and gives voice to people living with HIV, as well as their friends and family. Campaign participants share their stories and call on everyone to work together to stop HIV.

Today, more tools than ever are available to prevent HIV. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign encourages those at risk for HIV to talk about testing, condoms, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and HIV treatment so that they can take action to protect themselves and their partners. The only way to know for sure whether you have HIV is to get tested. Knowing your HIV status helps you choose options to stay healthy. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign motivates all adults to get tested for HIV and know their status.

Especial Guest: Dr. Stephaun Wallace, PhD  Director of External Relations, HIV Vaccine Trials Network and COVID-19 Prevention Network. June 2021 marks the 40th anniversary of the first description of AIDS. We present our personal reflections on scientific and global health evolution over the fourth decade of AIDS in a world that has recently suffered other major epidemics. We focus on biomedical advances because these have had the greatest effect on HIV transmission and disease

El estigma del VIH consiste en actitudes y creencias negativas sobre las personas que viven con el VIH. Cuando apoyamos a las personas con VIH, les facilitamos llevar una vida saludable. A través de la campaña Detengamos Juntos el VIH, Detener el Estigma del VIH destaca el papel que juega cada persona para detener el estigma del VIH y da voz a las personas que viven con el VIH, así como a sus amigos y familiares.

El 18 de abril es el Día Nacional de la Prueba del VIH en Personas Transgénero, un día para reconocer la importancia de las pruebas del VIH rutinarias, el saber tu estatus, y los esfuerzos continuos para la prevención y el tratamiento del VIH en personas transgénero y de género no binario.
