Grind my Gears is a straightforward podcast produced by two people who have had enough of certain parts of sports. Whether it be ridiculous rules, unrealistic guidelines for leagues or abused loopholes, nothing that upsets sports fans is safe from discussion. In each episode, the two hosts, Sean Nief and Derek Mattix, follow a theme regarding a certain sport or league and then go over three or four issues that they have with the aforementioned topic. No two episodes are ever the same. There are always new ways to express their anger and no sport is safe. The only consistent part is nonstop complaining. With the help of a special guest, Matthew Moon, who studies sports science at IU, the two hosts cover concepts like bandwagon fans, load management/season length and the draft lottery.
