Welcome to the Hispanic LatinX Empowered Podcast
Transcript:
Hello my name is Andrea Bejarano-Robinson
I was adopted in 1984 from Colombia, South America
I have been married to my husband since May of 2005
We have 4 boys.
My husband is a man who was born in Minnesota. Typical Mid Class American family.
I grew up with a Mid Class American out look but certain aspects of my pre adoption years still creep in.
I have a brother who was adopted from Florida. He has a son and lives in Minnesota
Our adopted Mother always taught us that “As people with Disabilities we must not wait to be asked to be at the table but we must insist on it.” I have added that “Women, People of Latin Decent ab\nd Disability Communities need to push there greater communities to be more more Diverse and must want to be as Inclusive as possible”
So I have ran for Public Office 3x and in 2 states. All 3 times I want to say I changed how folks view Immigrants, Women and those of us with disability.
I have a wish to empower Latin Folks to take leadership position in all levels of Government and Organizations.
This Podcast will concentrate on Hispanic LatinX Empowement. So if you from our community or your our alley we welcome you to listen and even co host a topic, or bring us topics you want us to dive into.
