    Podcast 1: West Africa

Today on Fashion Around the World, I have my friend, Ama Ohenewaa, who goes to school with me at Marquette University. Ama was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, but currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

On this week's episode, Ama tells about her personal style that is inspired by the African print, her fashion inspirations, and all her fashion faves! She also explains the frustrations and barriers of trying to mesh both the American style and the African style into her personal look, and how she has grown over the years to accept these differences and love herself just the way she is.

    Podcast 5: Netherlands

Welcome fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos. This week I met up with Roy Heijnerman, an international student from Marquette University.

Roy is from Eindhoven, Netherlands, where most people enjoy wearing denim jeans with a casual top-casual, but classy! However, Roy gets criticized from his peers for dressing over the top with ties and blazers. Yet, Roy ignores the criticism and dresses however he likes.

He further explains the differences in American fashion and the Netherlands, and how he gets inspired by trends and social media influencers.

In this week's episode, Roy will give insight on male fashion from a European perspective.

    Episode 4: Taiwan

Today on Fashion Around the World, I sat down with Andrea Lin, a Marquette international student from Taiwan.

Andrea gives me insight on how her country is highly inspired by the Japanese, Korean, and American style, and how she blends the three together to form her own personal look that is bold and colorful.

However, Andrea faces criticism from her family and peers for her bold look and finds it difficult to find others with her similar taste. Despite the negativity, she continues to be herself and she stays true to what makes her feel confident.

She encourages one another to be kind and to not judge people based on how someone dresses. And she hopes to one day be a fashion influencer that will inspire others to take risks with their style.

    Podcast 3: Brazil

    Podcast 3: Brazil

Welcome back to Fashion Around the World. I'm your host, Michaela Wells, and today I have my friend, Eva Schons Rodrigues from Porto Alegre, Brazil.

In episode 3, Eva talks to me about balancing both the American style and the Brazilian style, and how she sometimes feel like an outsider in both cultures. In her hometown, there is an emphasis on how your clothes give you status verses the laidback way of dress in the Midwest.

Although there maybe barriers in both countries, she feels at home, whether she is in the US or Brazil. And she preaches that people should stop judging each other's way of dress and encourage one another to be comfortable in whatever they wear.
