Featuring Professor Ashley Hurst from UVA's School of Nursing as our guest speaker, Hoos for Health Equity digs deeper into conversations surrounding health equity, with a primary focus on COVID-19 vaccine rollout. In this episode, we discuss Prof. Hurst's own experience as a clinical ethicist working at the frontline of UVA Health's vaccine rollout, the sources of vaccine inequity at a local, national and global scale, possible interventions, and lessons for future public health students.

Introducing Hoos for Health Equity: COVID-19 at the Forefront
Recorded in March 2020 and based in Charlottesville, VA, four undergraduate UVA students introduce the mission of the Hoos for Health Equity Report -- an effort for students, by students to investigate and delve into health inequities and challenges in healthcare exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We also discuss President Biden's goals, the progression of COVID-19 in UVA and Charlottesville, local trends in health disparities, the infamous Danville situation, and more.
