Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

His IMAGE. We are made in His likeness. We are created, male and female, to bear His image to others in His creation. We are surrounded by the image-bearers of God.His charge for us to exercise DOMINION. He's given us sovereignty over some stuff. We are to have responsibility that we carefully carry. An Army, Navy and Air Force of Life Gen1:20 s1e6
If you go to the zoo today, you will meet an animal that was created on DAY 5 ½ . Maybe it will be a Red Panda or a Komodo Dragon!
On that day, God made an arsenal of land, sea and air. He made creatures in the water, in the air and on the ground. It is as if He was building an army, navy and Air Force of LIFE.
Let's then point to the CREATURES, and especially to the CREATOR of it all. Perhaps we can recall the last living thing that we saw in amazement. Maybe it was a Manatee. Remember, it was made on day 5 ½. bewithme.us -
I don’t need the SUN S1e5 Gen1:14
We just had a total solar eclipse here in Ohio. It emphasized the importance of the sun by having it lost to us for a few minutes.
Notice with me in Genesis that God made the sun and set it to give light and to rule. We wondered on eclipse-day, how long the world would last if the eclipse did not go away? We thought NOT LONG. Anarchy would soon follow.
No person here can currently say, "Sun, I have NO NEED of you" until we walk in the light of the person of God in heaven.

Creation In My Coffee Cup s1e4 Gen 1: 11
God made some stuff on the THIRD DAY that ended up in my coffee cup this morning. He made COFFEE. On the first day He makes time. On the second day He makes a place for us. On the third day, HE MAKES COFFEE.

In West Side Story, one of the great moments in theater takes place as Maria sings SOMEWHERE. A PLACE FOR US to Tony. Check out the 1961 film if you haven't seen it.
Similarly, God MAKES A PLACE FOR US on day two of creation. He makes a vertical space--a vault, an atmosphere for us to live in. He makes a horizontal space as He separates water and land. Literally, he make a place where the great story of rebellion, rescue and resurrection can take place. It is as if He is making a stage for us.
