Published in 1989, it revolves around the story of two lovers, Pedro and Tita. Tita is seen fighting her way through the stereotypes that existed during the time, to die with her one true love. In this episode of our podcast, Between the Covers, Armaan, Torie, and Anisha talk about the statements Esquivel makes through two of the most prevalent themes in the novel: love, and female empowerment.
