Dialogizing Theology Joshua Farris

In this episode, I raise some of the questions surrounding the partaking of the Lord supper virtually in the privacy of one’s own home using common bread and wine. These questions are prompted by the recent Covid virus situation surrounding us.

As a part of the background, I lay out some of the basic essentials to the Christian tradition on humanity in relation to sit in Grace which overlaps explicitly with the discussion about the free will of humans. This is all part of the background to consider Pelagianism in our contemporary context.

Given the changes all around us, it is about time to step back and do a bit of Philosophical reflection and think about why Philosophy is so important to the dialectic process, to Theology and to the church.

In this episode, I begin the question about the nature of dialogue and the dialectic itself. I give some answer to this question in order to show the importance of this form of discourse for arriving at both theological questions and contemporary questions relevant to the church.

In this episode I give a brief lay out and survey of the doctrine that came to be known as Pelagianism in church history and was famously attributed to Pelagius. This is a part of the groundwork for thinking about Pelagianism in concrete situations today but in the world and in the church.
