Do you love Burlesque? Have you noticed a lack of BIPOC representations at shows, within the local Vancouver Burlesque scene? On today's episode, Lindsay Braymen also known as stage name, Androsia Wilde shares valuable insight into her experience and the inner workings of the local Vancouver Burlesque scene. Lindsay is one of the founders of an emerging collective named " Diasporic Dynasty" a newly-established Black, Indigenous and Persons of Color (#BIPOC) collective, aiming to champion and uplift the stories of BIPOC within Vancouver Performing Arts communities.
Their group comprises of Burlesque and Drag performers who have performed around the province over the past decade (as members of Virago Nation, Geekenders, Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society, etc.)- thus, their practice largely centers movement, striptease, and satire, while celebrating the diversity in our voices and Paths.
