    In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Richard Anderson from Smart Serve Ontario and Hassel Aviles Executive Director of Not 9-5 to talk about the exciting new initiative that was launched on May 9, 2024.

    Smart Serve Cares launched a Workplace Mental Health portal in partnership with Not 9-5 and Greenshield Health specifically targeting the Hospitality Sector and anyone with a Smart Serve Certification can access this service free of charge.

    The Hospitality sector has never offered employees this type of service and it is greatly needed. Not only will you receive up to 3 hours of virtual mental health care but each Hospitality sector employee will have the ability to hand pick the therapist they wish to work with.

    In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Scott Palko, Festival Director of the Revelree Music Festival. The 2023 event takes place July 21 & 22 at Canatara Park in Sarnia. Scott talks to us about this years event, the challenges he and her team faced, and changes to the event because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

    The Revelree Music Festival has a goal to be more than just artists on a stage - they want to create a summer weekend filled with memorable performances, moments, and memories.

    All fans of live entertainment have a specific show, or even a single song, that allows them to remember every detail about where they were, who they were with, who was performing, and why that exact occasion meant so much to them. Their hope is to help cultivate as many of these moments as possible for their guests over two days in July through every available means: top-tier performances, a safe and comfortable experience, a multitude of venue amenities, and a joyful crowd looking to experience those moments themselves.

    In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Jeanetty Jumah, Folklore Festival Coordinator and President of the Thunder Bay Multicultural Association. The 2023 event was the 50th annual and took place (May 6-7, 2023))and Jeanetty talks to us us all about this years event, the challenges she and her team faced, and changes to the event because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

    “Travel the World in 48 Hours” at the 50th Anniversary Folklore Festival 2023, May 6th and May 7th at the Fort William Gardens and Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada presented by the Thunder Bay Multicultural Association. Tantalizing international foods, incredible entertainment, “shop-the-world” booths, exhibits, an activity-packed Children’s Area, and local artists on site await you. The Region’s most colourful event of the year will take visitors on a “Trip Around the World” in two fun-filled days allowing them to experience the magnificent sights, sounds and flavours woven into the fabric of our country by our various ethnocultural and Indigenous communities. We are proud to celebrate our 50th Anniversary Folklore Festival and the rich cultural heritages that make Canada one of the greatest and most diverse nations on our planet.

    Originally called the Bay & Algoma Buskers Festival, established in 2013 as a token festival for their neighbourhood, has risen again after the pandemic to become the Thunder Bay Buskers Festival. The Bay & Algoma Neighbourhood is a fitting backdrop for a street festival. Not only a collection of shops and restaurants the area is also home to a community of inspired entrepreneurs.

    In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Kathleen Douglass, Board Advisor for the Carabram Multicultural Festival in Brampton. The 2023 event is coming up fast (July 7-9, 2023))and Kathleen takes time out of her busy schedule to tell us all about this years event, the challenges she and her team face, and changes to the event because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

    Carabram is an annual multicultural festival that brings together cultures across Brampton through food, entertainment and education. The festival takes place annually on the second weekend of July and welcomes visitors from across the Greater Toronto Area.

    Venues across Brampton are completely transformed to represent different cultures from around the world. Visitors to Carabram have the opportunity to experience these cultures through authentic cuisine, as well as traditional dance, music and entertainment. Each pavilion is also equipped with cultural displays and artifacts representative of each culture in order to provide visitors with the full experience.

    In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Tracy Murray from the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation to talk about the Gran Fondo Lake Huron presented by Bruce Power & Suppliers. The 2023 event is coming up fast (Sunday, August 20))and Tracy takes time out of her busy schedule to tell us all about this years event, the challenges she and her team face, and changes to the event because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

    The Gran Fondo Lake Huron starts and finishes in beautiful Southampton, Ontario and it welcomes cyclists of all levels, offering scenic rides...including 3 new routes this year and ALL routes being run in reverse for a new experience. Routes this year include 110k, 75K, 30K, 80K gravel, 10K and a 1K kids ride.

    The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation has a mission of raising and managing funds for equipment, facilities and staff development to ensure our community and visitors have access to the best possible hospital care. The Foundation is one of five Foundations supporting the 6 hospitals in Grey Bruce Health Services; Owen Sound, Markdale, Wiarton/Lion’s Head, Meaford and Southampton. Our fundraised dollars are used to purchase equipment for the Southampton site and our share, generally based on patient usage, for our regional hospital in Owen Sound.

    Also joining Dave today is Heather Hyde from Economic Development Saugeen Shores. She talks about all of the activities, attractions and restaurants available to visitors that come to the area.
