Cancel Culture & Public Shaming
In light of recent events, Millie and Lauren sit down to discuss cancel culture for this episode. From Wiley to Katie Hopkins to a random person with 700 followers tweeting an inappropriate joke to their small following; we ask when is the correct time for someone to be 'cancelled'. We dive into Dotty Charles' book 'Outrage' and Jon Ronson's 'So You've Been Publicly Shamed' to try and find some answers.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19.
We realise that there are many different experiences of what is happening at the moment; for millions of people, lockdown is not a period of reflection and self-care or getting through as many novels and activity #humblebrags on instagram - it is a reality of people losing family members and grief, deciding between being able to afford hot water or food, job loss, and the huge financial worry of universal credit not coming fast enough and/or not covering rent payments, let alone anything else.
We are recording Keeping It Candid in Quarantine with the hope of providing some light relief for listeners throughout this time.
Thank you to all key-workers who are risking their lives every day to get our country through this period. -
