Life after Babyloss Grace in Action
-
- Sociedad y cultura
We are David and Siobhan Monteith and in 2014 our daughter Grace died the day before she was born. That day everything changed.
This podcast will follow our personal ongoing struggle in the new normal, but also be an inclusive conversation with those who have been where we are, for the benefit of those who will be where we are. For their families and friends for the medical staff, organisations, charities and academics that support grieving families. Join us as we explore life after Stillbirth.

Babyloss Awareness Week - Babyloss affects The Economy
You may not know it but as long as you are part of the economy - stillbirth affects you.
An in depth report showed that a stillbirth costs the economy 3 times the cost of an uncomplicated live birth.
In this episode we unpack what that actually means
You may not know it but as long as you are part of the economy - stillbirth affects you.

Babyloss Awareness Week - Babyloss affects MENTAL HEALTH
“So don’t mind my tears
Or the look in my eye
cos my normality
has drifted into the sky”
David Monteith

The figures around Black and Asian babyloss have been around for a while and yet it's only in the last 2 years that the horrific statistics have been highlighted and talked about.
We explore why these figures are so out of proportion and what can be done about it.

Babyloss Awareness Week - Babyloss affects FRIENDS/COLLEAGUES
In this episode we discuss how to deal with friends and how friends can deal with us
I don't know a single babyloss parent who hasn't lost a friend or is struggling with those relationships in some way since their baby died.
To those who couldn't make the adjustment - so be it - it's a pain we will learn from. To those who feel our pain almost as deeply as we do. I'm sorry you are caught up in the ripples of our grief. But for your love - Thank you.

Babyloss Awareness Week - Babyloss affects FAMILY
We see you...the Grandparents, the Brothers and sisters, the aunts and uncles, the cousins. Those of you who care not just for us but for our dead children. We see you and we love you for your love and for the grief you too have to process.
Grandparents we see the fact that you grieve not just your grandchild but you child who is becoming a different person.
we see you all and thank you not just for your love but for knowing that our grief came before yours.
And I grieve for all those parents of you whose family didn't know how or couldn't find it in themselves to support you as you needed.
The ripples keep growing
