How do you live a good life?

If you are interested in people and their journey through change and challenge, then you are in the right place. I choose my guests because they have a story and look like they have some answers.

Our conversation is based on just 5 questions. But that is the route and direction for a life well lived.

Embrace the Adventure: Finding New Boundaries in Midlife

Embrace the Adventure: Finding New Boundaries in Midlife

Hey there, it's Paul Harvey here, your midlife coach! Today, I'm diving into the magic of adventure and why it's so important, especially as we get older. This past weekend, I took part in a 100-mile relay race with some amazing teammates, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride!

We pushed ourselves to the limit, supported each other, and discovered the joy of doing something completely out of the ordinary. This experience reminded me of how much we all crave new challenges and adventures, no matter our age.

So, what could you do to shake things up in your life? Maybe it's time to try something new, something that scares you a little. Physical challenges are a great way to engage both mind and body, building resilience and proving to ourselves that we can handle whatever life throws our way.

If you're curious about finding new boundaries in your life, I'd love to chat. But honestly, you don't need me to start exploring—just take that first step and see where it leads. Adventure is out there, waiting for you!

Thanks for tuning in, and remember, the good stuff happens outside your comfort zone. Catch you next time!

From Glamour to Healing: Vicki Rebecca's Naked Truth

Today, I'm thrilled to share an incredible conversation with Vicki Rebecca. Vicki's story is nothing short of mesmerizing. Once a glamorous page three girl and Marilyn Monroe look-alike, she lived the high life in London but battled a dark secret – a severe heroin addiction. Her journey from addiction to becoming a hypnotist, NLP practitioner, and author is a testament to resilience and transformation.
In her candid memoir, "The Naked Truth: The Diary of a Glamour Model," Vicki unveils the raw and unfiltered realities of her past, including the trauma that fueled her addiction. It's a story of pain, recovery, and, ultimately, healing. We dive into her modelling days, the camaraderie behind the scenes, and the pivotal moments that led her back to Aberdeen, where she rebuilt her life.Trigger Warning: no details are given, but we discuss the nature of Vicki's trauma.
We also touch on her transition to fitness and therapy, her spiritual awakenings, and the profound impact of writing her memoir. Vicky's honesty and humour shine through, making this conversation as entertaining as it is enlightening.
Join us as we explore Vicky's remarkable life story – it's a journey of redemption, empowerment, and finding meaning. Plus, find out how to get your hands on her book and connect with her online.

    Celebrating Fathers: Reflections and Realizations

It is Father's Day in the UK, and it is worth reflecting on. In fact, this podcast owes its inception to my reflections on my father's life when he died in 2017.

If you've ever struggled with family relationships or wondered how to build better ones, this episode has something for you. Let's celebrate the dads, acknowledge their efforts, and see how we can foster more understanding and connection.

The Healing Power of Tai Chi - Rich Morley

The Healing Power of Tai Chi - Rich Morley

Each of us is looking for a solution to heal our ailments and improve our lives. This podcast documents my health and wellness journey. Where would I be without Running and Yoga? I was speaking to a client this week about the power of Eastern methodologies like Tai Chi and Qi Gong. I have experienced both and enjoyed them. That conversation stayed with me and reminded me of my conversation with Rich Morley.
As with all of these podcast conversations, they are timeless and worth a relisten. If you are looking for focus coaching the link is here. Rich Morley and the healing power of Tai Chi.  At 16 Rich Morley was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, by 30 he was medically retired and living on benefits, today he is fully recovered and supporting others to turn their own lives around. How did he do it? Through the healing power of Tai chi.
This remarkable story is a lesson in never giving up, even when the medical profession has given up on you. It is about discovering what is possible beyond medical intervention. And it is about harnessing the power of belief to turn your life around.
As our conversation unfolds, you will gain insight into the history and power of Tai chi, both as an aid to healing and as a martial art practice.

Simplify to Thrive: Embracing Less for a Fuller Life

Simplify to Thrive: Embracing Less for a Fuller Life

Today, we're diving into the intriguing concept of simplicity vs. complexity. Have you ever noticed how we naturally tend to add more stuff to our lives instead of taking things away? Let's explore why that is and how we can shift our mindset to embrace simplicity.
This week, I was fascinated by a conversation on the Hidden Brain podcast with Leidy Klotz, a professor at Virginia University. He shared a story about building blocks with his child. He would tend towards adding blocks while his son would take them away. It got me thinking about our cultural tendencies to complicate things and how we might benefit from doing the opposite. Do we need all this complexity, or is there a way to live more meaningfully by stripping back? What are we hiding from or masking with the complexity?
Join me as I reflect on my life and the accumulated clutter, especially in our busy schedules. I'll share insights on how saying 'no' can empower and how Eastern philosophies like Buddhism advocate for a simpler, more focused existence. Whether it's our personal lives or business strategies, sometimes less truly is more.
So, here's my invitation to you: take a moment to look at your life and see where you might be adding unnecessary complexity. Could you simplify things and find more joy in the process? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, so feel free to reach out. Let's chat and maybe even have a conversation about how you can simplify your life, too.
