#9 - Our God of Comfort

In this episode, “Our God of Comfort,” I share about the comfort we can seek from God’s Word (and from others who share His words of comfort with us) no matter what challenges, heartaches, or heartbreaks we may face. His comfort is everlasting, steadfast, and trustworthy.
    .
II Corinthians 1:3-4 KJV - Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort [paraklēsis / noun]; Who comforteth [parakaleō / verb] us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort [parakaleō] them which are in any trouble, by the comfort [paraklēsis] wherewith we ourselves are comforted [parakaleō] of God.
    .
II Thessalonians 2:16 KJV - everlasting consolation [paraklēsis]; everlasting comfort
    .
Romans 15:4 KJV - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort [paraklēsis] of the scriptures might have hope.
    .
Psalm 119:50 KJV - This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
    .
Psalm 119:50 ESV - This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.
    .
    I Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
    .
    Psalm 23 KJV
    .
Psalm 94:19 KJV - In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
    .
Isaiah 66:13 TPT - As a mother tenderly comforts her child, so will I tenderly comfort you…

#8 - Fixing Our Eyes on Him

#8 - Fixing Our Eyes on Him

In this episode, “Fixing Our Eyes on Him,” I share encouragement from the scriptures on not comparing ourselves to or judging others. Instead, we’re to fix our eyes on Him and rejoice with those who rejoice (sharing in their joy).
    .
II Corinthians 10:12 calls those who compare themselves with one another “without understanding; lacking wisdom; behaving like fools.”
    .
Matthew 7:1 KJV - Judge not, that ye be not judged.
    .
Matthew 7:1 TPT - Refuse to be a critic full of bias toward others…
    .
Matthew 7:1-5 MSG - “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.
    .
Psalm 37:4 KJV - Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
    .
Romans 12:15 KJV - Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
    .
Romans 12:15 AMP - Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief].
    .
Isaiah 26:3 ESV - You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

#7 - Our Source of Confidence

#7 - Our Source of Confidence

In this episode, “Our Source of Confidence,” I share about where our true, lasting confidence as moms comes from. I also talk about how we can turn down the noise and distractions, giving God's voice an opportunity to speak louder in our lives.
    .
Philippians 2:13 KJV - For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
    .
Philippians 2:13 AMP - For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.
    .
Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV - I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
    .
Exodus 14:14 KJV - The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
    .
Exodus 14:14 NIV - The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
    .
I Kings 19:11-12 KJV - And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
    .
In this verse, "still" is the Hebrew word demamah - whisper, calm, silence, still; "small" is daq - thin, small, fine, very little; "voice" is qowl - voice, sound. (The same word in Genesis 3 when Adam & Eve heard the voice of the Lord in the garden.) The CEB says "After the fire, there was a sound. Thin. Quiet."
    .
I Kings 19:11-13 VOICE - Leave this cave, and go stand on the mountainside in My presence. The Eternal passed by him. The mighty wind separated the mountains and crumbled every stone before the Eternal. This was not a divine wind, for the Eternal was not within this wind. After the wind passed through, an earthquake shook the earth. This was not a divine quake, for the Eternal was not within this earthquake. After the earthquake was over, there was a fire. This was not a divine fire, for the Eternal was not within this fire. After the fire died out, there was nothing but the sound of a calm breeze. And through this breeze a gentle, quiet voice entered into Elijah’s ears. He covered his face with his cloak and went to the mouth of the cave. Suddenly, Elijah was surprised. Why are you here, Elijah? What is it that you desire?
    .
Psalm 107:28-30 KJV - Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm [demamah], so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

    #6 - Fullness of Joy

    #6 - Fullness of Joy

In this episode, “Fullness of Joy,” I share about how we can have joy in our ministry of motherhood and how God liberally supplies and fills us full of that joy as we place our trust in Him.
    .
John 16:24 ESV - Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
    .
In this verse, "full" is the Greek word plēroō which means "fill to the full, abound, liberally supply, full to the brim, nothing shall be wanting, render perfect, accomplish, bring into realization, to bring to pass." In other translations of this verse, it's written as "full, complete, fulfilled, overflowing, abundant, the fullest joy possible."
    .
Also in this verse, "joy" is the Greek word chara which means "gladness, delight, cheerfulness." It's the same word as joy (the fruit of the spirit) in Galatians 5:22.
    .
John 16:24 AMP - Until now you have not asked [the Father] for anything in My name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete.
    .
John 16:24 TPT - Until now you’ve not been bold enough to ask the Father for a single thing in my name, but now you can ask, and keep on asking him! And you can be sure that you’ll receive what you ask for, and your joy will have no limits!
    .
    John 16:16-24 ESV
    .
Romans 10:9-10 KJV - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    .
Luke 2:40 KJV - And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled [plēroō] with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
    .
Acts 2:1-4 KJV - And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled [plēroō] all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
    .
Acts 13:52 KJV - And the disciples were filled [plēroō] with joy [chara], and with the Holy Ghost.
    .
John 15:11 KJV - These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy [chara] might remain in you, and that your joy [chara] might be full [plēroō].
    .
Romans 15:13 KJV - Now the God of hope fill [plēroō] you with all joy [chara] and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
    .
Philippians 4:19 KJV - But my God shall supply [plēroō] all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

    #5 - Unconditional Love

    #5 - Unconditional Love

In this episode, “Unconditional Love,” I share about God’s unconditional love for us and our unconditional love for our children - and how this life God has given us is a good life, despite hard circumstances or hard seasons we may be facing. I also give an update on a couple things to look forward to in the Mamas Move Mountains community in 2021.
    .
John 3:16 KJV - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    .
“Occasionally, weep deeply over the life that you hoped would be. Grieve the losses. Feel the pain. Then wash your face, trust God, and embrace the life that he’s given you.” -John Piper (https://www.desiringgod.org/embrace-the-life-god-has-given-you)
    .
Matthew 7:7-11 ESV - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
    .
I Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
    .
    I Corinthians 13:7 TPT - Love is a safe place of shelter…
    .
    I Corinthians 13:8 TPT - Love never stops loving…
    .
