As we get ready to welcome new Spartans to MSU, the New Student Orientation (or NSO) office is excited to talk about this summer’s orientation process! Throughout the summer, students can engage in a variety of different virtual programming before our in-person fall welcome program. Here to talk about the student orientation process are three NSO Program Coordinators, Maddie Sewick, Raven Baugh, and Jared Stratz.

New Student Orientation (NSO) offers many different positions for undergraduate students to gain invaluable experience and have the chance to help incoming students make MSU (Michigan State University) their home.  I’m here with a few of these student employees to talk about their experiences in the many different positions offered at the NSO office and give some insight into the kind of work they do. These students represent the four undergraduate positions available in the office, spartan leaders (SLs), office assistants (OAs), orientation interns (OIs), and student coordinators (SCs).

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Spartan Orientation Station! Today we’ll be talking about the Student Veterans Resource Center, also known as the SVRC. The Student Veterans Resource Center is dedicated to promoting the educational, career, and personal advancement of service members, veterans, and their families at Michigan State University. Today we are joined by Patrick Forystek, the Director of the SVRC.

Living off campus is a possibility for some incoming students, and many students will eventually choose to live in off campus housing. You may be wondering how to stay connected to on campus activities, when to sign a lease, or even how to start finding an apartment or house. These are all new responsibilities that we'll be discussing in today's episode. Joining us today is Suchitra Webster, who is the Director of the Office of Community and Student Relations.
