This is an investigation into the disappearance of the snatched conversation in the meeting room doorway, the casual chat in the coffee queue... the 'chance' encounter by the water cooler. Did they cease to exist in March 2020? What did we used to use them for? What have we been doing since? Do we even miss them? Find out how people are replacing them and whether they can really work any more in a virtual world.

Whatever happened to water cooler moments?
Whatever happened to those fleeting conversations that we used to have with colleagues in doorways, coffee queues and... at the water cooler? What did we even use them for? Do we still miss them? And what have we been replacing them with for the last 350 days?
And what of the future? Most of us know that we're not going back to the office any time soon - if ever - so how can we stay in touch, touch base and generally stay connected? We were interested in what we found and really surprised by what we didn't.
