Having zoned out to 3Step and some of that private school 'piano, I'm back to what is definitely my home - BANGING AFRO-TECH! And what better way for the prodigal son to return than with pockets loaded AF!

This mix is an ode to Masšh's 'Astral' sound. His out-of-body experience inducing productions leave one transported and definitely short of breath. To help celebrate the release of his reworks honoring 2 songs that South African house music lovers [my age and beyond anyway] will know and love deeply [DJ Fresca & Kudoskelem's 'Int'engekhoyo [feat. Lelethu Nkula] Kentphonik's 'Masingita' [feat. Lolo], on Stay True Sounds, his name features 5 times in this mix. That all 5 of the Masšh-produced songs in this mix have been released in the last 6 months, is testament to the quality of production, the absolutely insane work rate and the fact he is intent on owning 2023!!

Speaking of owning 2023 - Blanka Mazimela was kind enough to slide us an exclusive!! I'm incredibly excited and feel blessed to present to you - the andhim remix of a track that has come to mean so much more to me - the 2020-released Afro-spiritual classic 'Gcwanini' with Korus and Sobantwana. I am a fan of both the German duo andhim [see their track 'Donner' and his remix of Armonica's 'Ngeke'] and Blanka's work, and so this remix was definitely a match made in heaven in concept for me - and I'm glad that it definitely delivers on all it promised.

I always try to have a personal touch in all of my mixes and DJ SOSO's "Precious" [Afro Fanatix Mix] is a deserving highlight. He teams up with frequent collaborators Ozy Man & Mr OG. to craft this smooth Afro House beauty, with all the hallmarks of an anthem! This is yet another release from the boutique indie Ubizo Cafe Records. SOSO is a father, entrepreneur and groove provider of note and someone we're lucky enough to call a friend of the House of Finesse!
