    Creation Care with Kyle Meyaard-Schaap

Join me as I discuss with Kyle Meyaard-Schaap, the Vice President of the Evangelical Environmental Network, why his Christian faith prompts him to care for creation as a means to care for others.

The Bible has an unmistakable call to care for the least of these. We simply cannot honor that calling without taking seriously the threat of climate change and pollution as those with the fewest resources will be impacted the most.

Mental Health and the Church with Dr. Stephen Grcevich

Mental Health and the Church with Dr. Stephen Grcevich

Dr. Stephen Grcevich is a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in helping those dealing with various mental health conditions. He is also the founder and president of Key Ministry.

In this episode, I talked with Dr. Grcevich about the need for mental health inclusion ministries in churches, as well as the stigma associated with mental health in the Church. He offers some great insight into the struggles of those with "hidden disabilities" and how we, the Church, can come alongside and create an environment that is welcoming and healthy for those struggling with mental health conditions such as Anxiety, Depression, Autism, etc.

Redeeming Capitalism with Dr. Kenneth Barnes

Redeeming Capitalism with Dr. Kenneth Barnes

Is Capitalism the best economic model? Or would we be better of to ditch it in favor of Socialism?

Join me as I interview Dr. Kenneth Barnes on his book "Redeeming Capitalism". We talk about why he feels that Capitalism is the best economic model available to us, though it is certainly flawed.

In his book, Dr. Barnes argues that every business decision is also a moral decision. We need to steer Capitalism back on course by making morally sound decisions from the individual level all the way up to the boardroom.

Peace Talks - Talking Across the Political Divide with Pastor David Drum

Peace Talks - Talking Across the Political Divide with Pastor David Drum

Pastor David Drum is the founder of J17 Ministries and the author of “Peace Talks | The Good News of Jesus in a Donkey Elephant War”.

I sat down with David to discuss the current state of political division in America and how to talk across party lines, avoid over-identifying with a political party, and recognize that neither political party holds a monopoly on Jesus’ values.

5 Day Challenge - Martin Luther King Jr. Day - 2022

5 Day Challenge - Martin Luther King Jr. Day - 2022

One of the most important topics we can address to create a better future is the topic of racism, racial inequality, and racial injustice - especially in America.

In my best efforts to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I'm challenging my listeners (myself included) to listen to the audio of Dr. King reading his letter written from Birmingham jail, as well as committing over the next 5 days to listen to 5 podcasts, sermons, and TED talks hosted or delivered by black podcasters, YouTubers, pastors, etc.

My challenge to you is to watch and listen to these videos and audio files with an open mind and a compassionate heart. The goal here isn't necessarily to agree with everything that's said or to walk away with a 5-step plan to cure racism in America. Rather, the goal is to gain a new perspective and a new level of empathy for those in our country, and all over the world, who are unjustly treated due to individual and systemic racism.

I've compiled 5 Videos/Podcasts that I've found to be incredibly enlightening and have helped me to open my eyes and develop a new level of understanding and compassion for the black experience in America.   Please, follow along with me each day and let me know what new perspectives you've gained. If you find that you've learned to have more compassion, empathy, or understanding - let me know! If you're already well-versed in seeking out more diverse opinions and perspectives on racism in America, let me know if these videos have emboldened you to take action.

Ultimately, let's not treat MLK day as just another holiday and day off work. Let's move towards a brighter future. Let's Rewrite Tomorrow!

Reconciling Science and Religion with Dr. Jamie Jensen

Reconciling Science and Religion with Dr. Jamie Jensen

In the first official episode of the Rewrite Tomorrow podcast, I interviewed Dr. Jamie Jensen, a professor of Biology at Brigham Young University. We discuss the supposed conflict between science (especially as it relates to human evolution) and religion.   Dr. Jensen has a fantastic perspective that I hope will inspire Christians who may have historically had a lack of trust in science simply due to a perceived conflict with the Bible to reassess their views and find some peace in reconciliation.
