    Ten Years of Tones BONUS

    Just when you think it’s all over, we’re back again! This week we have a special BONUS episode of the ’Ten Years of Tones’ podcast, featuring none other than the two people responsible for creating the beast that is Trinitones, our co-founders Lynsey Callaghan and Patrick Barrett.We finally get to the bottom of the origins story and where the idea of setting up an all male collegiate a cappella group in Ireland came from. Lynsey and Patrick also give their own unique insight into the early years, creating a culture and laying down the foundations that would help the group continue and evolve for generations to come. We then fast forward ten years and reflect on an amazing Easter weekend celebrating the group’s tenth anniversary in the Sugar Club and the Fumbally Stables in Dublin.

    Thanks again to all the listeners and contributors for supporting this podcast. I will hopefully be back in the not so distant future with something fresh, all being well.

    Cheers folks,

    Sam

    Ten Years of Tones #5

    Welcome to the FIFTH and FINAL episode of the ’Ten Years of Tones’ podcast. This week we cover Gen’s IX to XI, which brings us right up to the present day. We discuss how the group navigated the pandemic, released music for the first time, conducted zoom rehearsals and turned to music videos and TikTok as a means of performance. Trinitones eventually returned in style with a well overdue Tour of Ireland and nowadays they are back rehearsing in person and normal service has finally resumed. We look ahead to the big night in the Sugar Club and some big future plans!

    Joining me this week are Niall Barrett, Billy Behan, Cathal Dervan, Eoin Hand, Kevin McDonnell, Patrick Kennedy and Dahnan Spurling.

    Thank you so much to all the guests who have contributed massively over the last five weeks. There would be no podcast without the enthusiasm and buy-in of all members past and present. Thank you to anyone that has taken the time to listen to the podcast and join us on this journey. Your support is much appreciated.  All that’s left to say is;

    Ten Years of Tones #3

    This week on Ten Years of Tones, it’s a big one. We discuss Gen VI, also known as the ’new era’, when lots of new faces joined the group and the reign of Neil Dunne took full flight. We reflect on the importance of a visit from the Trinity Tiger Tones from Trinity College Melbourne, who had a massive impact on the group, on and off the stage. So much so that we decided to organise our first international tour, to Australia!

    Plenty of anecdotes and tails in this one as the group marked its 5th anniversary in style.

    Joining me this week are Neil Dunne, Evan Holland, Andy Keenan, Fionn McGorry, Matt Murtagh and Conor O’Shea.

    Ten Years of Tones #2

    This week on the ’Ten Years of Tones’ podcast we discuss Gen’s III to V, also known as, the ’establishment’ phase, where the group saw a change in leadership and direction. We discuss singing with Ted from Scrubs, entering the world of corporate gigging, performing at the ICCA’s in London, Electric Picnic shenanigans and admitting our ’bad boy’ reputation on National Television.

    Joining me once again, we have Ben Jacob, Daragh Kneeshaw, Conor O’Shea and Robert Somerville. We also welcomed Neil Dunne to the show, who reluctantly joined the group in Gen IV. Little did he know, he would instantly fall in love.

This week’s episode is entitled ’Origins’, where we discuss how the group was formed, the choosing of the name ’Trinitones’, first songs learned, first gig, first celebrity encounters and that Teenage Dirtbag video.

    Joining me are Ben Jacob, Daragh Kneeshaw, Conor O’Shea and Robert Somerville.
