In today’s true crime series, Susan Powell was last seen alive on December 6th, 2009. Today, she is presumed dead and her case went cold in May 2013. It is widely believed that her husband, Josh Powell, was involved in her disappearance and his family may also have had some involvement in covering it up. Josh Powell was also the mastermind of the murder-suicide of himself and two sons, Charlie and Braden Powell.

Susan Powell was a victim of domestic violence; her husband, Josh, took complete control of her finances and her overall life during their marriage. Today, Chuck and Judy Cox, Susan’s parents, are fighting in the court system to make sure the United States’ systems of child services ensure to protect children, not just the parents. Many of these government systems focus solely on reunification, not the protection of the child. Chuck and Judy are working to fix that.
