Florida Man Friday | Mother Arrested for Attempted Poisoning of Baby with Bleach | Melissa Elaine Barnes Love and Murder: Heartbreak to Homicide

In today's episode of Love and Murder: Heartbreak to Homicide, Ky delves into the Florida Man case of Melissa Elaine Barnes, a mother from Hillsboro County, Florida, who was arrested after allegedly giving her 13-month-old baby a bottle filled with bleach. 

On January 2, 2024, a concerned relative contacted police, leading to the discovery of the baby living in an unsanitary, unpowered shed. The relative's quick thinking and suspicion saved the child from potential harm. Barnes claimed the bleach was used to rinse the bottle, but the contents were confirmed to contain chlorine-based bleach by the FBI laboratory. Despite this crazy incident, Barnes was not arrested until four months later! She faces charges of abuse and child neglect, adding to her previous criminal record.
