This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s anomus, a techno head, DJ, and producer from Alabama, now based in New York’s rave scene where she’s played with the collectives she.they.dj and Planet Queer. Her DJ style is anything above 150 bpm in industrial techno, acid techno and bounce, while incorporating other influences such as baile, Baltimore Club and hyperpop. The beats are fast and relentless and the tracks are hard techno.

This is my entry for the Beat Collective Challenge 26-05-2024 in which participants are given two samples and are asked to incorporate them into an original track.

The samples this month are from a new AI tool called Co-producer, released at the end of 2023.

It works like this - you enter a description and it gives you a bunch of royalty free samples to download.

The AI gave me lots of samples; two were called a glass piano and prince guitar, but neither sounded quite like their titles.

There are samples for this round, they are both supposed to be 91 BPM in the key of C minor.

Sample 2 - Prince guitar

With Sample 1 I created a drone sound in Ableton's Simpler and then played it in the first half of the track.

With Sample 2 I created a rhythm track by chopping the sample, and also dropped the sample into Ableton's Simpler to create a melody which follows the main melody. Both of these play pretty much throughout the track.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s Chesire, an industrial and hard techno DJ / Producer from Spain. She has an obsession with learning new things and creating her own sounds and she recently learnt the techniques of music production and started releasing her own hard techno tracks. Her DJ sets are uncompromising, fast paced and energetic.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s alice.KM a DJ / Producer based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. She had her first DJ gig in Brooklyn, New York, in 2016 and not long after she was playing at major venues in NYC like Elsewhere and The Rosewood Theatre, whilst hosting hundreds of people every month at her own immersive occult-themed soiree, Midnight Society. She then began organizing her own tours of the US West Coast, stopping in at legendary spaces like Avalon Hollywood and celebrated festivals like Serenity Gathering. She began making her own tracks in 2020 and has had releases on Circus Recordings, Lady of the House, Fantastic Voyage and Delusional Records, crafting a unique sound that paints pictures as well as it induces dance moves.

Now it’s time for this week’s guest mix and helping me celebrate the Draw The Line’s 6th Birthday it’s Yozé a techno DJ / Producer based in Istanbul in Turkey. Her DJ-ing journey began in her bedroom, moved to her kitchen, to friends' studios, DJ contests at the University of Bogazici and then the DJ booths at Istanbul's finest clubs. In 2023 she travelled to play in Germany, Finland, Vietnam, and Sweden. Her 2024 diary is filling up fast with bookings in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. Her tracks have been released by Airborne Black, Animarium, Pure Black and many others. Earlier in 2024 she won the remix contest for “Bell” by Mha Iri which led to a release on Drumcode.
