Please congratulate the guys on doing their very first podcast without me. 

This week our Journey has a bit of a scary time. Luffy nearly gets executed, Sanji meets another beautiful woman, and Zoro duels Tashigi. Sanji starts us out this week by having a cooking duel with the one and only Carmen. After taking his time and preparing the dish the best way possible, he defeats, or she admits defeat? Who knows? Panning away from there Luffy has successfully climbed the scaffolding and is looking at the View Roger once saw. He is captured by Buggy and Alvida, only to be saved by divine intervention and a mysterious man named Dragon. We are sorry about the unannounced hiatus, scheduling is hard.

RIP Toriyama you will be missed. 

Odas message to Toriyama

“It is too early. The hole is too big. Sadness washes over me when I think that I will never see him again. 

I have admired him so much since I was a child, so I remember the day he called me my name for the first time. On the way home from the day you used the word “friend” for me and Kishimoto (Naruto author), I remember being overjoyed with Kishimoto. I also remember the last conversation we had. 

I was one of those who took the baton from the days when reading manga made you a fool, and he also created an era when both adults and children could enjoy reading manga. He showed us the dream that manga can go worldwide. It was like watching a hero going forward. 

For not only mangakas but also creators in various industries, the excitement and emotion of the time of Dragon Ball serialization must have taken root in their childhood. His existence is like a big tree. 

For the manga artists of our generation who stood on the same stage, Toriyama’s works became more and more important to me as I got closer to the same stage. I even felt scared. But I am just happy to see the aloof man himself again. Because we love him on a blood level. 

With respect and gratitude for the creative world he has left behind. I pray for his soul to rest in peace. May heaven be the joyous world he envisioned.”

This week our Journey enters Loguetown. The town of beginnings and ends. The strawhats split up and have separate journeys, such as Luffy searching for the execution platform of Gold Roger, Zoro trying to buy new swords, and Usopp getting into a duel with a famous bounty hunter named Daddy the Father. All the while we are introduced to two new marines in Smoker and Tashigi. Smoker, a man with a devil fruit who witnessed Roger's execution, and Tashigi, a female swordsman who dreams of collecting all 21 great swords.

This week our journey follows Buggy the Clown and his nefarious crew as they get back together. Before that Buggy gets blasted from island to island after his fight with Luffy. He meets friends and foes until he finds a mysterious woman who is looking for Luffy. With her help he finds his ship and saves his crew from the Kumate (Bear Claw) tribe. 

Before their captain arrives, the Buggy pirates lay his limbs to rest, and begin fighting over who will be the next captain. Introducing the Richie Pirates. Unfortunately this new crews reign on the sea does not last long as they are defeated by the Kumate tribe. While being boiled alive the crew is saved by their former captain Buggy and everyone is reunited. Long Live the Buggy Pirates!
