The spring Veterans Honor Flight is off to Washington, D.C. soon!
05/17/24: Jane Matejcek is the President of the Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN Board, and joins Joel to talk about the upcoming honor flight to DC. The flight leaves on Sunday the 19th and comes back to Fargo the following Tuesday, and Joel Heitkamp and Ryan Janke from KFGO will both join the flight. Jane previews the flight and group of veterans on it, and talks about other upcoming flights as well.

Fraternal Order of Police members talk about social security benefits
05/16/24: Patrick Yoes is the National President of the Fraternal Order of Police and Joe Johnson is a retired Fargo Police Officer and North Dakota Fraternal Order of the Police State Trustee. They both join Joel on "News and Views" while in DC for National Police Week to have a conversation with Joel about working to repeal the windfall elimination provision. The Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) is a Social Security rule that reduces Social Security benefits for people who also receive non-covered pensions.

05/16/24: Ryan Janke heads to the KFGO studio from the newsroom to talk with Joel about an interview he recently did and wrote about. He recounts his interview with North Dakotan, Kurt Groszhans, who was imprisoned in Ukraine, accused of ordering the assassination of a government official, and escaped.
