John’s 5 Live World Cup Podcast Review
So the first is disappointment I didn’t find out about this Podcast until about 2 days before the Eng semi final despite reading BBC news and listening to BBC world podcasts every day!! I remember they advertised ad nauseum about some murder mystery dating back to the war - why not advertise current day Podcast in advance!
I complained to BBC because they still give the biggest cheating b.....d in the world reporting time and free publicity yet noting about your preview that’s sad!!
By the way my friend and I thought the turkish referee for the Eng Croa game was Maradonas illegitimate son! Yet no one on the commentary teams talked about how poor and biased towards croat the ref was in that game.
The 5 or 6 episodes I heard were very entertaining especially Klinsmann Lineker Waddle?(sorry) reminiscing about their semi in 90. Sorry to miss the rest earlier.
The Dublin Southgate interview also great.
That’s at least 5 for 5 so all the best and thanks.
John D. (Long suffering England fan who saw the ‘66 game on a small black/white TV aged 11!)
Great show
Love the podcast. The prize for winning the sweepstake should be a meal for 2 with Chris Sutton.
