I Quit It Sarah Naomi

- Society & Culture
While daydreaming about my next project, I realised that quitting has become one of my top skills in both good and bad ways. It is a skill I have honed since childhood. I have quit the usual: jobs, sports, instruments, friendships (ouch!); and some less common things: high school, Bible college, countries. If you need a little break from the stories of achievement, join me as I recount the things I have quit as well as the things I have quit trying to quit (social media and procrastination, I’m looking at you!). Hopefully, my failures (and a couple of successes) will make you feel better about your own life for at least a little while.

High School
This week's episode is dedicated to all those who should be attending their graduation ceremonies right about now. Hopefully, my tale of quitting high school (twice) will be a welcome distraction, even if only for 20 minutes.

Running
I have this fantasy of running along a beach at sunrise with a long ponytail flowing in the wind as the sun rises - it's BS! Running and I are not friends. Our relationship is a toxic one in which running keeps hurting me, I leave, and then it pulls me back in. This week I am joined by my former running partner (and husband) Scott to talk about why I keep quitting.

Racism
Quitting racism is a constant, ongoing process for me. Recognizing, understanding, and changing my own words and behaviors is one way to help change the system. This is where I'm at right now.

Biking
Summer holidays arrived and I thought a good way to get away from it all while getting the bike I had been eyeing for a while would be to ride that bike from Seoul to Busan. I ended up quitting, but I'm only kind of upset about it. The takeaways make the ride worth it.

Procrastination
I am notorious for my procrastination. I am prone to avoiding tasks until the right amount of stress has built up. This is not something I plan on quitting, and to be honest, wouldn't know how. But, it is something that affects my life. Does it affect yours?

Corona Quits
As many around the world, corona virus brought with it a new lifestyle. For me this included restricted travel, a flourishing fear of crowds, and some new hobbies that have already been cast aside.
