The Legally Joyful World of Adelle Onyango (Part 1‪)‬ Selam & Hello

    • Society & Culture

We had so much fun talking with Adelle Onyango that we had to break the episodes into 2 parts! Adelle Onyango is the Founder of Legally Clueless Africa and the Adelle Onyango Initiative and has quickly become and powerful and important voice in media and in advocacy for women and girls. In part 1 of our two-part series, Lilly and Adelle discuss Adelle's transition from traditional media to creating her podcast, Legally Clueless, which features stories from extraordinary people across the continent and has become the first syndicated podcast in Kenya. Adelle shares about the transformative moment she learned she was Black, the impact of therapy on her well-being, and why this Mother's Day she felt gratitude for the first time in years. They also explore the nuances of building a profitable business and how the 'chick who started' Legally Clueless is not the same woman who runs it today.

Don't miss part two coming out next week, where Adelle shares her views on politics, her advocacy work as a survivor of sexual violence and, her (joyful) hopes for the future!
