Dara Lovitz is a passionate activist and working mother of twin daughters who cares deeply about making the world a kinder place. She’s an author, professor, presenter, and co-founding board member of Peace Advocacy Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes a peaceful existence through veganism, social justice, and respect for the Earth’s inhabitants and resources. Jackie is a fellow podcaster and vegan and joined me this week to talk about raw food diets, podcasting, and more.  Jackie does marketing by trade but has always loved to tell stories. She loves nature and animals and can often be found spending her time outside. She is the creator, producer and narrator of BLDG EVELYN, a twice-monthly fiction podcast about the crazy life and family of Evelyn Munoz in Brazil, all inspired by true events. Each chapter is written by a different writer and they put their own spin to it.

Silvia Lucci, owner of LUHV Food, helps spread the word about plant based diets through homemade, heartfelt vegan food. 

Since Silvia and her husband Daniel Lucci, both immigrants from Argentina, along with their son Facundo Lucci started LUHV Food in March 2015, the line of vegan products has taken off. With restaurants in Hatboro and Philadelphia and products sold at major retailers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, the Luccis have proven that their plant-based, energizing foods are in high demand.

But as unlikely as it may be for such a successful enterprise, the Luccis say that the LUHV didn’t start out as a calculated business proposal. It instead grew out of their family’s own struggle to overcome financial and health troubles, and the journey towards a vegan lifestyle that they embarked on in order to confront those challenges.
