    Knowledge

    Knowledge

We recognise people not only by their appearance, but also by their voice or gait, etc. Where do these abilities come from? It is not the mind alone, but also the spirit, the quasi-supernatural, i.e. not rational. I believe it comes from what is beyond us. It is a creative gift that can be trained - but this rarely happens consciously. For example, we can become better and better at recognising what is good and what is not good - if we consciously train this ability and also allow inexplicable feelings and impressions. I interpret that we are able to do this because we have eaten from the tree of knowledge. But recognising is one thing - how to deal with it is another and far more difficult thing. Wisdom is needed here. It comes best from communion with the one who gave us all this and originally created it. Knowledge alone without the necessary wisdom is therefore not only an almost unbearable burden, but can even be dangerous if we lack the wisdom to know what to do or not to do on the basis of what we have recognised.

    Light

    Light

Light illuminates and gives all sighted people the information they need to move around safely. It illuminates, brightens and helps us to orientate ourselves. Without light, in the dark, nothing changes in our surroundings - but we are no longer able to take safe steps in the same way. However, light also has the property that above a certain intensity it is harmful to our eyes and can dazzle us to such an extent that we can no longer see anything. So what is so good on the one hand is equally harmful on the other. The fact that we don't suffer any damage depends solely on our line of vision. Light is only indirectly good for us, but not directly. When we are in the light, it helps us, but when we look into the light source, it can harm us. This helps me to understand why we should live our lives before God, but still cannot see Him. At least not in this world.

    Locomotion

    Locomotion

Assuming you see an earthworm, i.e. an animal without feet, you might wonder how it moves. It actually works by contracting along its length and therefore straightening up in the middle, pulling the rear part towards the front while the front part remains stationary and then the rear part remains stationary and the front part pushes itself forwards. This sequence of movements is repeated continuously. Both are therefore present simultaneously throughout the forward movement: Resting or waiting and movement. This sounds contradictory to us humans and our bodies. I think that sometimes this is the only way forward in processes and interpersonal relationships: Certain people at the front wait until those behind can catch up. And then those at the front can take the next step. So things also move forward while you're waiting - encouraging, don't you think?

    Emoji

    Emoji

How well do you manage to express your feelings? Or how well do you manage not only to allow and express them, but also to communicate them consciously? We live in a society in which we are always supposed to feel good and when we are asked "how are you?", we often don't wait for an answer or take it seriously, but automatically expect a "good" before moving on to the actual topic of conversation. In social media, communication is even more special. People don't necessarily formulate complete sentences and work a lot with images, icons or emojis. The latter are simply small symbols - including faces - that reflect different moods. This often makes it easier to communicate your current mood. If you do the same: which emoji are you currently using? And which one would you like to be? Which one would you choose as your life emoji?

    Announcement

    Announcement

I was driving past a place the other day on my way to the railway station where the road was cracked along its length and had a slight camber. This road had been repaired not so long ago. When I saw this crack, I thought to myself that the subsoil at this point was obviously active, i.e. in motion, and had damaged the road accordingly. I continued to wonder what would happen if this indication was not acted upon - would the road be torn up there, would the surface be completely broken up and, if so, what would that mean for the use of the road? Or will this imminent damage be recognised and countermeasures taken in good time, which would, however, have a negative impact on the flow of traffic for a while? Emerging damage or problems often announce themselves. The only question is whether we see them, want to see them and are prepared to react to them in good time. How do you feel about this?

    Gallows

    Gallows

We used to play the gallows game in pairs as children. One of us thinks of a word and draws as many small squares as the word has letters. The other has to guess the word by guessing the individual letters. If he guesses a letter correctly, it is entered in the corresponding empty space. If he guesses a letter that does not appear in the word, the other player gradually draws a gallows with each unsuccessful attempt, with a person hanging from it. If the drawing is completed after about 10 unsuccessful attempts, the guessing player has lost. If he guesses the word before completing the drawing, he wins. This game reminds me that we are often keen to count other people's mistakes and at some point say: that's enough. Peter once said the same thing to Jesus when he asked: Is it enough to allow a person to misbehave 7 times? Jesus says: No! Don't even start counting, just forgive. What does this request trigger in you?
