In Emory's Creative Writing Program, students can approach the study of literature in a creative way - through their own writing - as well as by the more traditional method of critical analysis and reading. Students may also pursue their personal interests and investigate specific genres, including poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, playwriting and screenwriting.
The Creative Writing Program's Reading Series brings to campus every year 4-6 writers of very distinguished reputation. The series has included Nobel, Pulitzer, National Book Award, PEN/Faulkner, New York Book Critics Circle, and Tony award winners. Each author gives a reading and a colloquium (question and answer session). All events are free and open to the public.
