Hello and welcome to Everyday Dungeon Master! Today guest is DM David from the Crucible of Fate game show on YouTube, which is THE D&D Game Show! Join us as David gives us the breakdown of the Crucible and extends the invite to the listeners to create a character and apply to be on the show, because as David says, one of you out there is the champion of the Crucible of Fate you just don't know it yet.

For today’s monster spotlight, we shine it bright on the Death Knight, a formidable foe that can deal some major damage. If you want to see it in action, check out the episode of Crucible of Fate that it’s featured on and watch it wreak havoc on a low level party.

Hello and welcome to Everyday Dungeon Master! Today my guest DM is Adam. Adam is joining us all the way from Finland with some awesome tips, tricks and stories about running D&D and other tabletop games for kids and using it as a tool to expand their imagination and teach them a foreign language! This was such a fun conversation, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

The monster spotlight is bright and shines deep into the unknown, where nothing but horror awaits as it casts its light upon the horrible Aboleth. Adam gives us some details about this terrifying creature and just what makes it so spooky. Just remember kids, stay off the water, its full of the unknown and HP Lovecraft-style critters.

The shoutouts and promotions Adam leaves us with today are:

To the parents of all the kids that entrust him to lead them through this game, thank you!

    Theater of the Mind

    Theater of the Mind

Hello and welcome to Everyday Dungeon Master! Today my guest DM is Grey. In today’s episode we talk all about Theater of the Mind and how it can be useful and quick way to run a game of D&D. Grey gives us some great tips and tricks on how to run the game, including one of the best tricks which is simply remove distance and replace with time in combat. There are more amazing tips packed inside today’s episode, so I hope you enjoy!

Grey brings us a 2-for-1 special on today’s Monster Spotlight. He starts by bringing the undead, replicating monster known as the Zombie Plague Spreader which is a nasty little creature that packs a punch. He follows it up with a spider from your nightmares, the Trap Door Spider which is a great way to scare low level parties.

The shoutouts and promotions that Grey mentions throughout the episode are as follows:

The Matthew Shardlake Series by C.J. Sansom

    Sly Flourish on YT

His players: Grenmur Grassfoot, Cypress Grove, Hannelore Haldenzel, Levina Cloudstrider and Neb Rainwell

RAW vs. ROC (Rule of Cool)

RAW vs. ROC (Rule of Cool)

Hello and welcome to Everyday Dungeon Master! Today my guest DM is Sam. In today’s episode we talk about the different rule sets of D&D, including RAW (Rules as Written) vs. ROC (Rule of Cool… but everyone should call it ROC from now on… trying to start something here!). Sam does a great job breaking down these two rule sets and giving us stories and examples on how they are applied and what the pros and cons of each DM rule style.

Today’s monster spotlight takes us on an adventure to way back when, as Sam pulls a monster from the depths of the D&D 2e universe and presents the Doll Golem. This terrifying creature will make you laugh, until you are dead. He also gives us a quick and dirty lesson on how 2e worked as he explains the stat block a bit which was cool for me and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Today’s shoutouts belong to two awesome establishments in the Cleveland, OH area, so if you are listening from there or you find yourself in the area, go check these places out:

    The Tome Bookstore

    Cerberus Den

With that, I hope you enjoy today’s episode. If you are a DM wanting to be featured on a future episode send me an email at everydaydungeonmaster@outlook.com or find me on Facebook at @EverydayDMPod.
