    In yet another example of community spirit, sewing machine owners have been producing scrub bags in huge numbers, along with headbands which are being distributed to the NHS to help in their day-to-day duties.

    But it’s also financially worrying times for many people as we reach the forth week of lockdown.

    I spoke to Daniel Grant from Finance Planning based in Hailsham who explained to Paul Gibson what people with financial worries should be doing and how his work has changed in recent weeks.

    According to the figures, young people have been the biggest flouters of tough restrictions on gatherings, as the good weather led to defiance of emergency laws.

    So, we wanted to find out how the local Police force has been dealing with the outbreak and how their work has changed. Paul Gibson spoke to Sergeant Kara Tombling from Wealden Police who told him how Policing has taken a different angle over the recent weeks.

    There’s a company in Hailsham that’s doing its part to make sure this equipment reaches them.  Proteus Packaging based in Lower Dicker has transformed itself from a packaging company to producing face masks to protect medical staff from COVID-19.

    https://hailsham.news. As we are aware, all local attractions have been closed to the public because of the COVID-19 outbreak, and Herstmonceux Castle and Grounds is not an exception.

    The gardens are very famous for its amazing displays at this time of year, and of course, visitors have not been able to enjoy them . So, grounds manager of Herstmonceux Castle, Guy Lucas decided that if people cannot come to the flowers, then the flowers will go to them.

    Guy joined Paul Gibson from Hailsham News  recently to explain why he’s bunched up more than 2000 flowers to give some joy to local people.
