The Oilers are only days away from kicking off the Stanley Cup Final, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Thursday episode of the Real Life podcast. 
The guys kicked off the Thursday podcast with a discussion about the history of Oilersnation and how having the team in the finals is the biggest moment in our company's existence. After so many years of watching horrible hockey, the way this feels for all of us is so indescribably exciting that it's almost difficult to describe. 
Changing gears, the guys walked through some of their pre-game superstitions. Whether it's Chalmers wearing the same t-shirts underneath his Mark Messier jersey on game day or Jay wearing his Evan Bouchard bracelet, it's always so funny to see what people are doing to try and help this team move things along. 
Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with some of their expectations for the weekend and how they plan on enjoying the moment as best they can even at a time when the anxiety and nerves will be high. The Stanley Cup Final is one of the hardest series in sports to make — let alone win — and that had the fellas feeling grateful just to be able to experience the ride.

The Oilers punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final last night in Game 6, and that meant the boys were beyond fired up for the Monday episode of the Real Life Podcast. 
The guys started the podcast with a recap of last night's series win over the Stars, where everyone was to watch the game, and what it meant to them. Baggedmilk and Tyler were lucky enough to be at the game, and their perspective on what it was like to be at Rogers Place was very fun to listen to. 
Now that the boys are going to the SCF, the guys then talked about their approach to merch for the Stanley Cup Final. For Wanye, the approach was to buy literally every piece of Oilers merch the NHL site had to offer. As soon as the game ended, Wanye kept refreshing the site over and over until everything loaded, and he emptied the clip on every piece of merch he could find.
Finally, the guys wrapped the podcast up by bringing Kennedy in for the last little bit to talk about some new NationGear merch that just dropped, how she's handling the playoff stress, and what she expects from her first time experiencing the Oilers in the finals. In terms of energy, this episode of the podcast was all vibes.

It's Thursday afternoon after a HUUUUUGE Game 4 win over the Dallas Stars, the boys on the Real Life podcast
The boys started the Thursday episode of Real Life with a recap of last night's Oilers game after the boys came up with one of the most exciting outings of the playoffs. After being down 2-0 after 5:29, Edmonton woke up in a huge way and absolutely laid the boots to the Dallas Stars for a dominant comeback win.
Changing gears, the guys started talking about the amazing collection of super fans that surround this team and how they're almost becoming celebrities in their own right. From there, the fellas welcomed Dooks to the podcast as a special guest to discuss his playoff experience from down in Australia. As you'll hear, Dooks is always a beacon of positivity, and it was a lot of fun to hear how he's experiencing this playoff run from the other side of the world.
Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of the podcast with a conversation about jersey purchases after Baggedmilk rolled into the studio wearing an Orlando Magic Shaq jersey. Interestingly enough, the boys have some pretty random jerseys in their collection but don't ever seem to wear them for whatever reason. Finally, the pod wrapped up with a classic edition of Chalmers keeping it 100 after he noticed that more bathrooms need to play music instead of leaving people sit in silence.

The Oilers are getting set to kick off the Western Conference Final tonight against the Dallas Stars, and that meant the opportunity for an on-the-road edition of the Real Life Podcast.
The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a quick recap of their travel down to Texas after the boys took the red eye to Dallas for games one and two. Despite a long night of travel and very limited sleep, the boys' spirits were high, and everyone was excited about what was to come in the first game at American Airlines Arena. 
After a few minutes of arguing about whether or not Ryan McLeod should be in the lineup in favour of someone else after some costly errors at the end of the second round versus Vancouver, the guys put together a squad bet for Game 1 in the hopes of paying for some of their trip. As you'll hear, the boys are feeling good about the start of this series, and they are putting their money on manifesting a win.

It may be a holiday Monday, but that didn't stop the boys from heading into the studio for a Game 7 edition of the Real Life Podcast to get prepped for Edmonton's biggest game of the season.
The guys started the Monday episode of Real Life with an array of topics related to the Oilers but didn't really relate to the task at hand. From Crawford's acting as the ultimate insider to the way we felt before and after Game 6, the boys tap-danced around tonight's game a little bit before finally getting to the task at hand for 30 seconds at most.
The Oilers talk was quickly interrupted, however, by a quick chat about Scottie Scheffler getting arrested before the PGA Championship and how the story was so bizarre, given what everyone knows about him. The guys then talked about Jay catching a donair at Game 6 and how he was so excited to get one despite it not being the greatest thing he's ever eaten. 
Looking ahead to Game 7, the guys walked through their keys to victory and what the Oilers need to do to advance to the next round. From the steady goaltending to the power play to Edmonton's stars showing up, there is a path for the Oilers to win the game, but it certainly won't be easy. There's no doubt that the Canucks are going to bring their best, and it will be up to the Oilers to match that urgency. 
Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with another look at the MLB's gambling issues after another translator has been tagged with a gambling controversy. That led the guys to spend a few minutes talking about the Toronto Blue Jays, and how that team is incredibly frustrating to watch given their inability to score many runs.

Is there anything better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to help you close out your week? Of course not. This Thursday, the squad looked ahead at tonight's Game 5 matchup between the Oiler and Canucks along with whatever nonsense got in the way of the guys staying on topic.
The squad started the Thursday episode of Real Life by discussing the Moose Jaw Warriors' sweep of the Portland Winterhawks, which won them the WHL Championship. Wanye and Jay are Moose Jaw lifers, so both guys were incredibly excited about the team's progress to the Memorial Cup.
After a minute of Moose Jaw-related happiness, the guys immediately started yelling at each other about Kris Knoblauch's decision to play Calvin Pickard for a second straight game. Much like the last episode of the podcast, the boys were fired up and were not shy about voicing their opinions at extreme volumes.
Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of the podcast with a story from landlord Chalmers about how his tenant let a toilet run for the last month, and the water bill he got was unbelievable. Needless to say, it was a classic Chalmers rant to wrap up the podcast, and it had the guys in tears laughing about it.
