FCA Journey:


On staff with FCA for 8 years
Camp has had a huge impact on coaches and athletes
Watching the journey from 6th grade to graduation and seeing the spiritual growth is incredibly rewarding. It's amazing how God transforms lives over the journey.
FCA is helping coaches and athletes by putting sports in perspective



Core Beliefs:


"I need you. You need me. We are better together." (Body of Christ)
Coaching: If you got into the profession to make winning the ultimate goal, you are in the wrong profession.
Coaching is all about relationships



Advice to Parents:


Don’t take it too seriously. Take away the pressure and make it fun.
It is not about your kid being the next prodigy. Let your kid be a kid.

Personal Background:


Father of 3 (a son and two daughters) - youngest just graduated
Elder at Bethel Church
Bio in a nutshell: Jesus, BBQ, & Sports!
One of three brothers (middle child)
Dad is from North Carolina (Go Tar Heels!)
From a small town, Four Oaks
Dad was the best athlete he has ever seen: 5’8, could dunk, and was the fastest guy around



Faith and Life:


Faith sums up Zenon's story and that of his family
Grew up in Port Townsend
Graduated from O'Dea High School
Really encountered Jesus in college at WSU (Go Cougs!)
Faith is the center of who he is and who his family is



Sports and Memories:


Favorite sports memory: Hitting a home run in the 12-year-old Little League All-Star game
Favorite thing about athletics: Teamwork (doing life together)
As a parent of young athletes: Doing life with other parents
Watching the progression and growth of players is one of his favorite aspects of sports



FCA and Its Mission:


Let's talk about FCA: To lead every coach and athlete in a growing relationship with Jesus and His church
Combining Jesus and sports
We are so passionate about our sports (it could become an idol if we're not careful)
The purpose: Find a way to glorify God through sports and make Him known through the platform sports gives us
