191: Thanyia Moore on bullying, comedy, and Cabbage Patch Dolls

191: Thanyia Moore on bullying, comedy, and Cabbage Patch Dolls

Our guest for this episode is the hilarious comedian, actor, and writer, Thanyia Moore!

We reminisce about the bad old days, when we were all on the open mic comedy circuit together. There's some chat about how different audiences can be, and the issues around race and gender that still exist in comedy today.

Thanyia shares her experience of being a school bully, and tells us what happened when she apologised to the people she was mean to in adulthood. We discuss what causes bullying, what she wishes the adults around her had done differently, and why she thinks it's time for a shift in focus in the way we deal with bullies.

And finally, we nearly come to blows over the subject of Cabbage Patch Dolls, before Thanyia entertains us with some brilliant Scummy Auntie Confessions.

For more from Moore, including gig dates, go to thanyiamoore.co.uk. Her episode of Mock the Week is now on iPlayer.

189: How Not to Get Divorced with Sam Pamphilon

Comedian Sam Pamphilon knows the answer to none of these questions, but we have a good laugh anyway!

The actor and former chef tells us how he's handling the pandemic, and what his signature lockdown dish is. We discuss Sam's sexual preferences, donkeys versus racehorses, chicken vaginas, and Val Kilmer's elbow. It's one of the most honest and hilarious chats we've ever had, so do have a listen.

As mentioned on the podcast, Sam isn't on social media at the moment. If you want to follow him, best loiter around Sydenham Lidl.
