Is working in Denmark REALLY as good as they say?

Is working in Denmark REALLY as good as they say?

This week, Derek and Annie welcome back Mike Walsh to talk about what it’s really like to work in Denmark. As a former host of the show, Mike has not only worked in the studio, but has worked in Denmark as well as hiring and managing both Danish and international workers. He shares all of his insights of navigating the work culture in Denmark and around Europe as he has managed and visited international work sites.
You’ll learn more about the culture clashes one may face in Denmark and learn whether or not the famous Danish work life balance exists. The trio discuss what stereotypes exist for Americans, Danes, and other nationalities that may or may not be true. Annie reveals the nationalities of her favorite colleagues, and Derek explains the Danish workplace benefits his American brain could not comprehend when he first started working in Denmark.
All this and more is covered in this episode and you shouldn’t forget to share it with any friends or colleagues who are thinking about or have made the move to Denmark.

The 2024 election you SHOULD be talking about

This week, Derek is joined by Thorbern Alexander Klingert, a Danish candidate for the EU Parliament. He’s spent years advocating for the international community in Denmark to make sure they had information on voting, and he’s taking his passion for democracy to the next level - and hopefully to Brussels. As a candidate for the EU Parliament, Thorbern explains his stance on many issues facing Denmark and why Danes and residents of Denmark should be more focused on the upcoming EU elections.
Thorbern explains the personal experience that led him to focus on expanding voter participation among Denmark’s international community. He and Derek discuss and debate some of the most important issues in the 2024 election and how to vote as an EU citizen in Denmark. Don’t forget to share this episode with any friends who are living in Denmark.

The MANY things we wish we knew before moving to Denmark

This week, Derek and Annie welcome back Mike - a What Are You Doing in Denmark OG! Around the table, your hosts and former host discuss all the things that would have been nice to know before moving to Denmark. Annie shares the new pieces of clothing that have been integrated into her children’s wardrobe, and Derek discusses all the things he learned and didn’t learn in Danish class - including how to lie about his age. Mike chimes in with helpful advice on networking, making friends, and what to watch on television to fit into a Danish crowd.
All this and more is covered in this episode and you shouldn’t forget to share it with any friends who are thinking about or have made the move to Denmark.

Andres is spilling even more tea and sharing all of his opinions on this year’s show. You’re about to hear our top picks, Eurovision predictions, and our all-time favorite Eurovision Song Contest acts of all time - including the one that was part of Derek’s wedding day.
