David was a dad. The Scriptures name 19 sons, 1 daughter, and 1 child who died in infancy. These 21 children came from his eight named wives, not to mention his unnamed wives and concubines. Most of David’s relationships with his children are awful, but at the end of his life he does the right thing. David wasn’t perfect, he definitely wasn’t a perfect Father. But Jesus is the perfect Son, who reconciles us to the perfect Father. -
