When six criminals kidnap a young vampire, they swiftly become child’s prey rather than child predators. Starring Alisha Weir as the titular character alongside Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito, ‘Abigail’ made a profit at the box office, reviewed well and caught Ben’s attention for it’s clear love of eighties B-Horror.

Sound like too many people for one plot to support in a meaningful way? You bet it is!
When the discovery of an ancient artefact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age. But despite making twice it’s budget in box office receipts, this film received a frosty reception from critics and a tepid welcome from much of the fanbase. Can Ben & Rob defrost this overstuffed freezer of a film, or is it best to leave the franchise where it belongs; behind the tupperware of old Lasagna that Aunt Ethel brought around when you had the flu? Is Winston Zeddemore the most inept CEO since Elon Musk? And can Ben ever forgive Gil Kenan for taking all the warmth out of his favourite franchise?

With the sad news of Roger Corman’s untimely passing this month, we thought it best to revisit a movie SO packed with Ben’s special interests that it can’t help but put a smile on his face!
But how did this movie create practical effects nearly unmatchable since it’s 1986 release? Why do both of our hosts have such deep and intense fear of dentists? And given the sheer depth of Ben’s gloom, is ANY movie capable of cheering him up this week?!
