Finally, at Newcastle on Saturday is the historic Northumberland Plate and Brian Ellison shares why it would mean so much to him, should he win it with either of his runner tomorrow.

They begin by talking to Brian Ellison about his lifelong quest to win the Northumberland Plate, in which he is doubly represented tomorrow. Also on today's show, owner Philip Ullman from Gestut Schlenderhan explains why Tasmania is now in the care of Sir Mark Prescott as she contests this weekend's Pretty Polly Stakes, while Bluestocking's trainer Ralph Beckett also has his say. Later in the show, sporting life.com's David Ord has Something for the Weekend, while Paddy Brennan tells Nick about his new life as a Bloodstock Agent at the Derby Sale.

In this episode, Nick and Neil try to unravel the strands of this story and attempt to answer what might be best practice. Neil Channing reacts to the Philip Davies betting story in light of the latter's appearance on Bet The House and considers the impact the gambling related headlines may have on the industry as a whole post-election. Naohiro Goda looks at the Japanese entry in the Juddmonte international and also picks out a Japanese hopeful for this year's Arc whilst it's Wednesday so we also head to Hong Kong with JA McGrath.
