What Helped Me to Heal from Binge Eating and Compulsive Overeating with Ronni Robinson
Today I’m talking to Ronni Robinson, eating disorder recovery coach, author, free-lance writer and public speaker. Ronni has 16 years recovered from 30 years of binge eating and compulsive eating, starting at the tender age of 9 years old. Ronni also experienced an 8-year abusive relationship whilst struggling with an eating disorder. She has written a book about the entire journey called, Out of the Pantry: A Disordered Eating Journey, which came out in 2020. The book's purpose is to help support her own recovery going forward, and to act as a helping hand to reach, as she calls it, back into the "fire" and to help pull others out.
Ronni was on the podcast back in February 2023, telling her story and the journey she has been on to being a recovery coach today. Do go back and listen to this episode if you’d like to. There’s lots of personal sharing about her journey and it’s an inspiring story about what’s possible in recovery. The link for that episode is in the show notes.
Today, we’re going to dive into what really helped Ronni in recovery. Ronni is going to talk about her process in recovering from binge eating and compulsive eating. She is going to share skills and strategies that will give you a deep insight into what is involved in healing a relationship with food and yourself. I hope that you enjoy the conversation.

Eating Disorder Recovery and Unmet Childhood Needs, with Victoria Kleinsman and Harriet Frew
Today I’m talking to Victoria Kleinsman – a Brit living her best life in the Netherlands.
Victoria is a food freedom & body love coach, inspirational speaker, podcast host, and writer. She is certified in psychology, spirituality and the science of nutrition and is also inspired greatly in her work, by her own personal experience and walking a tumultuous recovery journey herself.
Victoria has overcome anorexia, binge eating disorder, bulimia and an abusive relationship. She struggled for over 20 years with poor body image and disordered eating.
But today, Victoria eats whatever she wants, when she wants, in any amount that she wants. She makes food choices from a place of nourishment and pleasure. She is healthy, confident and knows her worth. Her self-love is overflowing from within and she has, as she describes, ‘oodles to give others’.
This episode has already been released on Victoria’s Body Love Binge Podcast back in February 2024 – as it was a joint episode that we decided to share on both our podcasts. In this episode, we talk about our own healing journeys and how we have navigated through these. We talk about why people don’t feel good enough and the roots of this in experiences and trauma. We talk about suppressed feelings and how eating disorder behaviours help us cope and keep us trapped. We share the contrast and complexities on the healing road from our different journeys, and how we both are living happier and more fulfilled lives today.
This is a truly inspiring and uplifting conversation to provide hope for what is possible in recovery. I hope that you enjoy it.

When you Don't Feel Good Enough and How to Change This, in Eating Disorder Recovery
‘I’m boring’, ‘I’m not intelligent’, I’m unattractive. I’m too this or that……’; these are words heard frequently in the therapy room. And lying underneath these derogatory statements, is a fundamental belief of ‘I’m not good enough’. This inner feeling of unworthiness then permeates every area of life, through choice of relationships, work progress and social engagements. It’s like having a millstone around your neck, as you carry this heavy psychological baggage into every situation. Fundamentally, it causes lingering pain, which you then seek to avoid through eating or not eating, through alcohol, drugs, shopping or workaholism to name a few. The coping strategies bring temporary relief from the turmoil bubbling inside your head.
In this episode, I talk about my own inner feelings of not feeling good enough, which were a root cause of my bulimia. I share tips on how to change this and boost your self-esteem sustainably. Learning to feel enough can be a life-changer in recovery. I hope that you enjoy this episode.
